During its first fifteen years, Luxor Homes has delivered more than sixty-five custom homes in North Scottsdale as well as many casitas, wine rooms, home gyms, rec rooms, additional garages and other major additions to existing homes making us one of the largest builders of custom homes in Scottsdale. Luxor Homes has designed and built homes ranging from 3,500 to 8,000 square feet. The Luxor team is highly experienced in working with customers to turn their dreams into reality. Each of us has built multiple custom homes for our personal use so we have all “walked a mile in your shoes”! Luxor maintains an 8,000 square foot fully decorated custom model home that is designed to help buyers visualize the end product.
Luxor Homes has completed the design and structural engineering in-house for most of the homes it has built making it a great one-stop-shop for people wanting to design and build a custom home. We complete the design and engineering at well below market rates which results in great savings for our customers. We also competitively bid and build homes for customers who come to us with a plan designed by their architect.
In addition to its building activities, Luxor Homes has developed two custom home communities, Sonoran Crest, with fifty-eight custom home sites and Estates at Miramonte with twelve custom home sites. Both communities are contiguous to Troon in north Scottsdale with a typical drive time from the 101 loop of fifteen to eighteen minutes. There are still a few premium, three-acre, mountainside, custom lots available at Estates at Miramonte with breathtaking views from a nearly 3,000 foot elevation.
In addition to building in communities that it has developed, Luxor Homes has built on lots owned by individuals in many other custom homes communities in north Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. The Luxor Homes team stays current on all available custom lots for sale in the area and helps many of its customers locate and acquire their ideal lot.

Prior to founding Luxor Homes, Gary Haarer was responsible for the construction of nearly 20,000 homes in the Phoenix market as well as in various California, Atlanta, Charlotte and West Palm Beach markets while Executive Vice President of a national homebuilder. This has given Gary the long-standing relationships with proven-quality trades people and suppliers that allow Luxor Homes to build quality custom homes at competitive prices. Gary is a graduate of Indiana University. Gary is also a licensed real estate broker in Arizona and is the qualifying party under Luxor Homes’ general contractor’s license.
Gary’s wife Jennifer has been a partner in Luxor Homes since its inception and handles the accounting for the company. Jennifer is a graduate of Indiana University and also holds a master’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University. Jennifer is also a licensed real estate agent.
Quincy Haarer attended the University of Arizona and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering. Quincy started his professional career as a commercial structural engineering and eventually opened up his own engineering firm which specialized in engineering of highly complexed custom residential homes. Quincy has been a partner in Luxor Homes since its inception and joined his father at Luxor Homes after selling his business in 2004. Quincy is a licensed structural and civil engineering. Beyond engineering, Quincy enjoys designing houses, oversee construction and is also a licensed real estate agent. Outside of work Quincy enjoys being involved with his kids’ sports and activities, doing projects around the house with his wife Stephanie and cycling.
Steve Cyr joined Luxor Homes in 2003, and has a BS degree in
business from the University of Chico California. His early start in home building
began his sophomore year in high school where he was part of a roofing crew,
loading and installing clay and concrete tiles throughout his summer break. This was his first time around new
construction and really enjoyed the whole process of seeing a home go from
sticks and bricks to a polished finished product. Steve’s duties are spread out
like most small businesses and are responsible for the development of new
business, budgets, purchasing, and project management. I look forward to many more years with the
Luxor team, where we turn our client’s dreams into homes.
